The landscape of my home 23 by dragonslayero The landscape of my home 23 by dragonslayero
Sorry about the absence from posting anything lately, I've sort of been in the deep valleys of no inspiration and general internet-phobia...

Something more from the places around where I live.

Photo shot in the old parts of Stavanger, Norway.
Photo was shot on the 30th of April 2009.
If you ask me, this place should be UNESCO... then again, that's me...

Camera: Canon EOS 40D
Lens: Sigma EX 10-20mm DC
Filter: Canon 77mm Protection

I have to start by saying, I love this shot! What first strikes me about this piece when I look at it is the vanishing point, and how it draws your eye up the cobbled street. The use of lighting in the sky is brilliant, and draws your eye back some more, making you wonder what's beyond the quiet street. The detail in the foreground such as the paint on the step is great, and the emptiness of the street really gives the piece an weird feel, but nonetheless, it looks stunning. I would love to see more shots as clever and wonderful as this in the future for sure. VERY Well done!

Thanks!
I try to impress but searching for the fitting settings and composition for every shot can be a challenge sometimes.
Glad you liked it.

I really like the angles on this. It gives it a unique effect that I happen to really like.

This is worth framing.

Thank you for the kind comment.
The effect here is what I was aiming for.
Seems that lately my attention has been towards what works good in HDR and less on what makes a good scene. Hopefully this one might work as a transition period between those two phases of my photographical experience.
Maybe a marriage for the better?
