The center of things

This is a little revisit to a location I have photographed before.
This is from the Kurama temple in Kurama just north of Kyoto, Japan.

I made the trek up this path earlier this year and made an attempt at a panorama from this location ----> [link]
I am however not satisfied with the result from back then.
This photo is a cropped version of a photo shot from a spot just a few meters behind the one used in the former photo, but this was shot using the full 35mm properties of my Canon EOS 5d mk2 camera.
Although it lacks that wide feel that you get from a proper panorama photo, I think this looks better as it shows of the location without adding the distortion.

Oh and for the note: Yes it always seems to rain when I go here.
Other note: Trekking up the mountains in summer was easier than it was during my visit in March
