Fushimi Inari-taisha by dragonslayero Fushimi Inari-taisha by dragonslayero

As mentioned before, I am doing a travel through my older photos.
Now I happened to stumble upon a series of photos from of of the many historical sites of Kyoto (again :P )

Fushimi Inari-taisha consists of many thousands of torii lining the walkpaths up the mountain Inari.
Just walking around is worth anything you did or payed to get here. It just has that special nature to it.

Maybe I went a little overboard with the toning effects in this one, but still, I think it brought out the impression I got while visiting.

It's quite a nice pic, but from my point of view, I would change just one thing. I think i t should be better to take the pic from below even bent on knees so that these red structures seem much more impressive. Another thing i should change it's the green balance, i would turn them in two ways: the first one coulbe much more greener so that there is a deep contrast between red and green, the second one coulbe to turn the green much more opac near grey so that the red is the only color.
Nevertheless it's a nice pic.

Shoulden`t be a problem.
As long as you give me credit for the photo and prefferably a link to the photo location that would be sufficient for me. Bear in mind though that the photo is registered under creative commons so commercial use of the photo for your own (economic) profit will not be tolerated.

Lovely, just lovely. I like how the red contrasts with the background. :D

Yeah... I got some comments on that red dominant part...

It does give me the right memories though. Just the way I experienced it.
I just regret I didn't grab a photo of the school group we encountered. Somewhere out there is a photo of a group of students with a 6'4" foreigner behind them! :P
Thanks for the interest and the comment!

Sorry about the late reply, I've been away working the past few weeks.

You haven't been there?
I'll be going back for my second visit very, very soon.

For me it is a chance for more and better photos, but this time I am bringing some friends that haven't been to Japan before.

Thank you very much for the interest!

Are you back to live or a tourist

To live in Japan would be a big dream come true, but for the time being I just have to settle for a trip or two as a tourist each year.
I might have an option to try if I just nag enough to one of my superiors at work, he might be able to set some stuff up, but it's not exactly something I'm aiming to do. Moving away from ones home country is not just something you go off and do.
But I'll just have to see what the future brings.
Currently my goal is to visit my GF in Kyoto, haven't seen her for 6 months now. Everything else comes after that.

Heh... went a little overboard with the saturation.
The original might not be this extremely red, but it is actually not that far off.
Though, impressions can be misjudged by me... I'm currently waiting for a screen calibrator...
Thanks for the comment!

Still looks good. I think I would never done something like that, but in some strange way it works here. And certainly gets attention, maybe its becouse most of the photo is that "one" object in just one color.
And again - awesome photo, made me comment ;)
